WorkAbility Qld held the Careers in Disability Expo in Rockhampton last Wednesday the 28th of March.
A special thank you to Barry O’Rourke MP and Councillor Rose Swadling for officially opening the event.
Karni Liddell, NDIS QLD Ambassador, helped to host the ceremony and shared her personal story. She also talked about the broad range of job opportunities and training pathways available in the disability support sector.
Craig Hodges, CEO of the Health and Community Services Workforce Council also helped to host the ceremony.
It was a great event that more than 130 job seekers attended. There were more than 100 jobs on offer on the day, with numerous additional jobs expected to be created following the Expo.
The range of exhibitors included disability service providers and training organisations.
