Health Skills Formation Strategy Project


The Health and Community Services Workforce Council is working with the health industry in Queensland on a three year Skills Formation Strategy. This follows the completion of a scoping project in 2006 (click to download: 507KB pdf).

The Health Skills Formation Strategy (HSFS) represents a major undertaking to facilitate an industry wide approach to workforce issues.
 

Expected Benefits

 

The project will involve industry-wide consultation to:

  • Gain a collective understanding of workforce issues impacting on the sector;
  • Identify key issues and facilitate the determination of strategies and solutions to address identified priorities;
  • Scope the nature of education and training supply and
  • Encourage broad ownership of outcomes.

The projected outcomes include:

  • Improved collaboration between industry organisations and stakeholders
  • New strategies to address workforce issues and to improve ongoing skills development
  • Enhanced capacity for industry to work in partnership to address whole of industry workforce issues
