Professional Support Coordinator Project

What is the project about?

The Professional Support Coordinator project ( PSCQ ) is part of the Inclusion and Professional Support Program (IPSP), a key facet within the Child Care Support Program ( CCSP ) initiated by the Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs ( FACSIA ) in 2005.

This move by FACSIA was to consolidate funding spread across numerous organisations and appoint one organisation in each state to coordinate all professional development for child care services.

The Workforce Council was named the Queensland appointee and now aims to continue supporting workforce development for child care services by engaging Professional Support Service Providers (PSSP) to assist in meeting the needs of services as identified throughout implementing the project.

Target Group

The PSCQ will target all Australian Government approved child care services, and Australian Government funded non-mainstream child care services.

Regional Information

The PSCQ plans to develop regional networks of local child care services to assist in the ongoing identification of workforce and skill development needs of services across the state. The project will value the contribution and ongoing feedback from services and will use the information to guide the delivery of Professional Support Services.
