The Productivity Places Program (PPP) is part of the Australian Government's Skilling Australia for the Future initiative in partnership with State and Territory governments. PPP aims to boost workforce participation and productivity by offering additional training places for jobseekers and existing workers. The program will be industry-led in targeting areas of skills shortages across the Australian economy, with a focus on higher-level training places.
The Queensland Department of Education and Training (DET) has contracted the Workforce Council as an industry broker for PPP training places in the health and community services industries. The Workforce Council will be responsible for purchasing approximately 350 qualifications from the PPP priority list to meet identified industry needs. We will work with key industry stakeholders to identify priorities and then work with employers and training providers to respond to those priorities. DET has provided funding for this role initially for one year with a view to extending the funding if the project meets the DepartmentĄ¯s needs.
