Target Group

The DSTF target group includes unpaid and paid staff of services receiving DSQ Funding, and Parents and Carers of people with a disability in Queensland.

Regional Model

Coalitions of local people from the target group meet regularly in each of our ten regions to decide training and capacity building priorities for their region based on feedback from their networks. A Workforce Council Project Officer ensures that the decisions made by the coalitions are actioned.
The DSTF model is a Community Engagement Model that supports the development of localised infrastructures & process as tools for community capacity building. The basic principles the project supports are:

  • People given the opportunity & support can make decisions together about equitable sharing of resources
  • People in the target group best know what their training needs are & need to be given the opportunity to influence decisions.
