Surat Basin Workforce Planning Forum

The Surat Basin Health and Community Services Workforce Initiative will present a free Workforce Planning Forum on Wednesday 17 August at the Chinchilla RSL.

 

The forum will include:

  • An introduction to the Surat Basin Health and Community Services Workforce Initiative
  • An overview of the Workforce Council’s regional workforce planning process
  • A workshop to answer the questions ‘what are the priority workforce issues for health and community services in the Surat Basin region that this plan should be responding to?’ and ‘what are the ways forward?’

 

Alisa Hall, Stacy Field and Trish Leddington-Hill will be presenting the forum and will be inviting stakeholders to assist with the detailed drafting of the plan through participation in an ongoing Workforce Action Group.

The Surat Basin Health and Community Services Workforce Initiative is a short-term project which aims to develop a workforce plan for the health and community sectors in the Surat Basin. The project is coordinated by the Workforce Council in Partnership with RHealth, with funding from Skills Queensland. ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

ALISA HALL is currently the Deputy Director of the Health and Community Services Workforce Council. Having worked in a wide variety of roles in the acute and primary health care sectors, Alisa has built up substantial expertise in strategy design and implementation, stakeholder engagement and workforce planning and development. Alisa has a keen interest in developing strategic workforce responses that will support the successful delivery of integrated health and community services that are regionally appropriate and responsive.

 

STACY FIELD has worked in a range of roles within the community services industry, including community, youth and sector development. Stacy has been employed in workforce planning and development roles by the Workforce Council since 2006 and has worked as a Project Officer within the Integrated Workforce Development Strategy, as well as coordinating the Gold Coast Workforce Partnership Initiative. Stacy is passionate about the community services sector and those working in it and is motivated by developing creative and innovative approaches to growing, sustaining and developing our workforce.

 

TRISH LEDDINGTON-HILL is the Manager, Partnerships Program and Research for RHealth based in Chinchilla. Trish grew up on a merino wool property on the Southern Downs and was educated in Millmerran, Toowoomba and Brisbane, completing a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws at the University of Queensland. Trish worked in the rural sector in a number of roles when finishing University, before joining RHealth in 2002 where she has undertaken many differing program coordination roles including for Allied Health, Mental Health, Aged Care, Quality Use of Medicines, Health Promotion and Integration. Most recently, Trish’s work has focused on promoting improvements to the primary health care system through partnerships.
