Mental Health Week 2011

This year Mental Health Week will run from October 9-15 coinciding with World Mental Health Day on Monday 10 October.

Raising awareness of the importance of mental health and wellbeing in the wide community is the aim of Mental Health Week. The theme for this year is Be Active. Get Connected. Stay Involved.

The State Government will host the Queensland Mental Health Achievement Awards in Brisbane on October 14 to recognise the outstanding committment of organisations and individuals associated with mental health.

Throughout the week, local and regional events have been organised to contribute to reducing the stigma associated with mental ill health as well as supporting the community with help seeking behaviours and mental health promotion.
