Planning for your Medicare Local Workforce: Steps and Strategies
On Thursday 23 June the Workforce Council will present a breakfast seminar 'Planning for your Medicare Local Workforce' at the Royal on the Park, Brisbane.
Presenters Dr Jenny Summerville and Alisa Hall will discuss the workforce implications of current health reforms, the need for strategic workforce planning to be embedded in Medicare Locals and describe some key elements and strategies needed to support a regional workforce planning process, including:

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Dr Jenny Summerville is a sociologist who specialises in social research and evaluation methodology, community and regional engagement and workforce development. She has a diverse range of experience undertaking research and evaluation to support workforce development in a wide variety of contexts including health, community services, disability, early childhood, housing and youth. Currently, Jenny is working as the Coordinator for the research and development team at the Health and Community Services Workforce Council and is also a visiting Senior Research Fellow at Queensland University of Technology.
Alisa Hall is currently the Deputy Director of the Health and Community Services Workforce Council. Having worked in a wide variety of roles in the acute and primary health care sectors and across government and nongovernment agencies, Alisa has built up substantial expertise in strategy design and implementation, stakeholder engagement and workforce planning and development. Alisa has a keen interest in developing strategic workforce responses that will support the successful delivery of integrated health and community services that are regionally appropriate and responsive.
