Four teachers from Queensland kindergartens and preschools have been named as finalists in the NEiTA (National Excellence in Teaching Awards) 2011 ASG (Australian Scholarship Group) Inspirational Teaching Awards.
The following teachers were acknowledged as finalists:
Queensland had the most finalists with over 200 teachers from schools and early childhood centres across the state.
The awards which seek to acknowledge the important work of teachers and leaders.
Finalists will now move into the national phase of the awards, the NEiTA 2011 ASG Inspirational State and Territory Teaching Awards in which 60 teachers will be announced as recipients in November.
The Awards are the only independent national awards for teachers in Australia based on nomination by parents and students.
