The Productivity Places Program (PPP) is a Project of the Health and Community Services Workforce Council and is funded by the Queensland Department of Education and Training as part of a joint initiative of the Commonwealth and Queensland Governments.
PPP aims to boost workforce participation and productivity by offering funded training places for existing workers. The program is led by industry and targets areas of skills shortages across the Australian economy, particularly focusing on higher level training places. The Workforce Council is responsible for brokering specific qualifications from the PPP priority list to meet identified industry needs.
The Workforce Council is working closely with key employers, peak bodies, unions and training organisations to promote the uptake of Productivity Places Program training and ensure the program is responsive to the needs of industry in Queensland.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What training will be offered?
DET has assigned a list of eligible qualifications in Health and Community Services to the Workforce Council for us to broker to industry. Actual delivery will depend on sector plans, industry priority and project capacity. PPP funded training places brokered through the Workforce Council will predominantly be for existing workers.
When will the training start?
The Workforce Council is seeking ongoing advice from employers on their organisation's demand for training so that the PPP Project can best target the current allocation of funded existing worker places. Through working with industry stakeholders to identify priorities for delivery the Workforce Council has already facilitated the commencement of training in a number of sectors. For more information on existing worker training arrangements please download the Workforce Council PPP information sheet.
Who will provide the training?
A number of Registered Training Organisations will be contracted to deliver existing worker training and assessment to industry employers according to sector brokerage plans. Training providers will be selected according to these plans, with a range of strategies used for this selection. Organisations interested in delivering PPP training and assessment services should complete an RTO Feedback Form.
