The Social and Emotional Early Development Strategy (SEEDS) manual is a resource that provides easy access to practical information and strategies to strengthen social and emotional wellbeing in early childhood education and care.
The manual and DVD are products of a successful collaboration, drawing together the expertise of The Gowrie (Queensland) Inc., Queensland Health and Professional Support Coordinator Queensland.
The manual begins with an introduction that outlines the links between early brain development, secure attachment and responsive care giving. The resource manual then provides an opportunity for participants to learn ways to work with children, families and communities to support social and emotional early development.
The manual includes a DVD and activities to support learning around social and emotional early development.
The manual was introduced to early childhood educators with an advanced diploma or above in 2009 and was designed to be introduced with the support of one and a half days of professional development. This ensured that those who have the SEEDS manual are able to then go back to their service and other services to present the professional support to their staff and others.
The cost of a license to use the SEEDS manual is $132.00
