PSCQ offers a range of state-wide and regionally based support and activities throughout Queensland. These include member services such as access to the Resource Library and Advice service, learning groups and online forums and services available to all target child care services such as workshops and the bicultural support pool.
Please see the Professional Support page for more detail
PSCQ has a dual approach to the allocation of funding for professional support opportunities; there is state-wide allocation for professional support i.e. resource library and advice service, specialist equipment, bicultural support pool and specialist advice services and a regional approach that includes the involvement of 14 Professional Support Networks (PSNs) that consist of 10-12 child care professionals from all service types. These people meet on a regular basis to share what has been identified as professional support needs for their region, prioritise the needs then implement opportunities to get needs met.
The funding for PSCQ comes from the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). Previously, this funding was distributed to a number of different service providers. Health & Community Services Workforce Council Inc. was successful in the application for tender to implement the new Professional Support Coordinator (PSC) in Queensland.
Target child care services are Australian Government Approved Child Care Services, including private and community based long day care; outside school hours care, including vacation care; family day care; occasional care; and in-home care.
Target services also include Australian Government funded non-mainstream child care services (non-Child Care Benefit) such as flexible/multifunctional services; non-mainstream outside school hours care; non-formula funded occasional care (100 per cent Australian Government funded); and mobile child care services.
JET crèches, Indigenous playgroups and solely State Government funded services are not eligible for support under the Inclusion and Professional Support Program.
You will have access to the Resource Library and Advice service, Staff Exchange Program, In Service Contribution Program, online forums, peer support groups and any other innovative support opportunities organised in the future.
