Through our role in facilitating a cross-industry workforce planning community of practice, we have been asked to lead a conversation with Queensland industries to support their understanding and action in developing more inclusive workplaces and diverse workforces. The Health and Community Services Workforce Council will host leaders from across sectors to explore this together at the Building a Diverse and Dynamic Workforce Forum on Thursday, 22 March 2018.
The forum will build a picture of what a diverse workforce can look like, how it can contribute to business and social outcomes, and what opportunities and resources are available to support inclusive strategies.
Invited guests include:
- Leaders and workforce planners from across Queensland industries including tourism, building and construction, hospitality, transport and logistics, agriculture, energy, manufacturing, and health and community services;
- Representatives from inclusive workplaces; and
- Queensland Government and Non-Government leaders and specialists responsible for influencing and supporting workforce diversity.
We look forward to working with our partners in helping to build a vision for a Queensland workforce that reflects the attributes and resources of our diverse population and evolving communities.
This forum will set the scene and determine next steps for cross-industry joint action.
