In their report for the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER), Terri Seddon and Stephen Billett outline social partnerships as localised networks that connect some combination of local community groups, education and training providers, industry and government to work on local issues and community-building activities.
The Health and Community Services Workforce Council took a role in gathering the data for this report because it is absolutely fundamental to the way we work with regions and our industry partners. We aim to take a partnership approach with governments to gain outcomes for our industries and sectors.
Our partnership with Griffith University involves not only working with the Faculty of Education, School of Vocational , Technology and Arts Education on social partnerships research but also developing the Logan Griffith Pathways project for a children's services pathway from Logan Institute of TAFE to Griffith University , Human Services.
We have a social partnership with Queensland University of Technology, Faculty of Education, School of Professional Studies and Community Education as well. Through this School we also have a close association with EIDOS, the research consortium of Queensland universities
We agree with the idea that social partnerships around education and training are powerful places in which to continue life long learning.
